Design Installations was founded in 1984 and created a new way for consumers to purchase audio systems. Rather than having the customer come to the store for us to try and figure out what might be best for them, we instead went to their home, assessed the situation and provided exactly what was needed. Then we personalized service and built long-term relationships.
1984 ...that's just two years after the introduction of the compact disc player and several years before the release of the very first keypad controlled audio system. We were far ahead of our time and our innovations helped create a completely new home electronic integration discipline, predating our industry trade association (CEDIA) by five years. Thirty-four years later we are Connecticut’s oldest and most experienced home technology firm, having installed over one-thousand systems from Manhattan to Nantucket.
